Role Description
Business Analysts work closely with the front
office Equity Trading and sales staff to establish
current and future technology requirements. They
will be responsible for business requirement
specification, working with trading, sales, technology
support, control, and IT development staff to
design and implement solutions.
The successful candidate will join a global
team and gain significant front office exposure
to all aspects of Equity Trading and sales. They
will work within a diverse environment that incorporates
trading/sales, quants, IT professionals, project
managers, and support/control functions.
The successful candidate must Have detailed
business knowledge of derivative sales, quoting,
price distribution, execution (process and systems).
Knowledge of issuance processes is also desirable.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable communication
and analytical skills with a strong understanding
of front office trading and sales. A background
in technology, project management, and investment
banking is required. He/she will have working
knowledge of derivative products (ex. swaps,
options, convertibles), an aptitude for their
valuation, and their distribution mechanisms.
The candidate will:
- Liase strongly with traders, salespeople and
desk heads and other mainline functions (trade
support, operations, legal)
- Develop an understanding of the detailed equities
business requirements and system/application/business
front-to-back processes
- Liase with IT development resources to establish
how the development may best be carried out (application,
process, etc.)
- Translating strategic and local business requirements
into detailed functional specifications. Helping
to develop and test new product features including
issuance and pricing models.
- Seeing trading technology projects through
to deployment
- Provide regional assistance to users of in-house
technology
- Facilitate project management for small deliveries.

- Has experience of, or an aptitude for, business
analysis, software delivery / project management
in banking or asset management
- Able to handle trading environment and prioritisation
of projects/issues among a large internal client
base
- Have 3-5 years of experience in a relevant
field (finance, equities, Fixed income, commodities,
derivative technology)
The
scope of the role includes system & process
requirements that derive globally from Equities
Trading (but specifically from the relevant region)
including derivative issuance, sales, quoting/contributions
of otc and securitized products, derivative price
distribution, STP, data maintenance, new equity
business technology requirements.
– Responsible for gathering requirements
from clients and working with IT to deliver.

Develop relationship with trading and sales desks
and logistical functions for tactical and strategic
derivatives projects
- Work closely with IT support and development
staff for delivery and other analysts to gather
global and regional requirements.

Understand F2B processes and help streamline
for cost savings.

Potentially involved in prioritisation of conflicting
projects and initiatives based on impact vs.
costs of implementing
- Understand both business and technological
processes and systems used to facilitate and
improve them.

- Degree in science, math, or finance background.
- Candidates should have from 3 to 5 years experience - either within a business
technology role or in an investment-banking/financial/asset management environment.
- Strong analytical, communication (verbal, presentation, written), project
management, and math skills
- Interest and aptitude in technology
Essential Education
Undergraduate degree in analytical concentration.
Engineering, finance, science, maths
Desirable Education
Maths, sciences, finance.
Mobility required (e.g. travel/relocation) -
Minimal (some travel between European offices,
Stamford and London)
Additional Requirements
Project management, communication (written, verbal), and ability to work in teams
