Job Description
Working for this major consultancy you will
be required to deliver innovation and change
within the procurement and wider supply chain
field. This covers the full lifecycle of procurement/supply
chain for people, business processes and technology.
Specific focus is on the Scottish Public Sector,
especially Central and Local Government, and
in particular the eProcurement field.
Ideal Candidates
Typically you will have a background with one
of the major consulting firms who possess a strong
presence in the Procurement/Supply Chain field
(e.g. Deloitte, IBM, PA, Hedra, Northgate). You
will be heavily involved with Procurement Consulting
within the Scottish business community, particularly
the Public Sector.
Role & Responsibilities
Our client has a wide remit to deliver Procurement
services to the Scottish Public Sector. Your
role will be wide and varied and will include;
- New business development/generating sales
in the Scottish public sector
- Account management
- Project Management
Skills & Experience
Essential: application of deep procurement experience
to solve complex business challenges; created
and implemented supply base and demand management
solutions to deliver significant total acquisition
cost reductions; worked as part of a cross functional
team; the ability to overcome internal and supplier
barriers through the use of drive, determination
and persuasion; full implementation of procurement
and commodity strategies in adverse supplier
conditions;
Desirable: experience in a significant procurement
change or improvement programme. Successfully
implemented procurement eCommerce solutions,
such as eProcurement and auctioning.
