| Role Description
FIRC Operations IT consists or three main
functional areas, FXCCT, OTC and Emerging
Markets. This role is to head up the IT
function for FXCCT Operations. The FXCCT
business is a Global business managed out
of Zurich. The Global Head of FXCCT Operations
IT is required to actively engage with both
the senior FXCCT Business Management and
the senior FXCCT Operations Management.
The FXCCT Operations IT team is global in
distribution with IT professionals in Zurich,
Stamford, London and Singapore, with Zurich
and Stamford being the two major sites.
FXCCT Operations IT is undergoing significant
investment in change the bank projects and
the Head of FXCCT Operations IT major objective
to ensure this investment realised the expected
business benefits and is aligned with the
strategic IT direction.
Key Targets & Objectives of
Roles
Build effective relationships with business
management and operations management. Manage
the portfolio of Operations CTB projects
and ensure that they are synchronized with
the other CTB areas of distribution and
risk to deliver F2B business benefits.
Develop a highly skilled, experienced and
motivated IT team, with an ethos on delivering
business benefits through “change
the bank” programs.
Implement “change the bank”
IT solutions that deliver the forecast business
benefits whilst improving the ability to
manage the “run the bank” costs.
The candidate must posses the following
qualities
• Drive / self-motivation / and strategic
thinking
• Strong Investment Banking Product
knowledge
• Ability to make an impression either
in person or through other media
• Has experience in all life cycle
areas including business analysis and software
development
• Experience in mentoring staff, and
managing a global team
• Ability to effectively manage IT
third parties either within or outside UBS
• Good knowledge of the Front to Back
business process within the Investment Bank
and in particular the operations processes
• Strong technical background, with
experience of managing large IT programmes
across multiple time zones.
Required Background
Essential Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in
Science, Engineering, Computer Sciences,
or related field
Excellent English (essential)
German (desired)
This position is based in Zurich, but the
individual will be expected to travel as
required.
Additional requirements
A proven record of delivering large scale
IT change programmes, across a wide set
of technologies provided from different
teams in multiple time zones.
